In two hours, we walk through the historic center: we begin at the 9 de Julio Square, visit the impressive Cathedral of Salta, explore the best-preserved Cabildo in Argentina, admire the magnificent San Francisco Church, and finish near the San Bernardo Hill.

Along the way, you’ll learn about iconic local figures such as Martín Miguel de Güemes, a national hero, and Lola Mora, the first female sculptor in Argentina. We’ll also help you get oriented in the city and share tips on local food and cultural activities.

We begin in the historic heart of the city at Plaza 9 de Julio, in front of the Cathedral and the Provincial Theater, then continue along the elegant Avenida Belgrano, passing by Plaza Belgrano and Plaza de la Legislatura.

We stop at the striking Monument of February 20th, a symbol of the Battle for Independence, and then head to the impressive Monument to General Güemes, which offers a spectacular panoramic view of the city.

We then drive up to Cerro San Bernardo to enjoy the full view of Salta from above. Toward the end of the tour, we pass by architectural gems such as the San Bernardo Convent, one of the oldest colonial buildings in Salta, and the beautiful San Francisco Church, with its red and gold facade — a pure example of baroque style. We will end our tour near the iconic Hotel Salta.

We ascend the impressive Cuesta de Lipán, reaching over 4,000 meters above sea level, until we arrive at the dazzling Salinas Grandes: a massive salt flat where sky and earth merge in a dreamlike landscape. Here, you’ll have time to walk, explore, and take mind-bending photos.

We then visit Purmamarca, known for its iconic Seven-Color Hill, lively artisan market, and traditional Andean vibe. There  we’ll spend the night in the scenic comfortable hotel and relax, so we’re full of energy for the next day.
In the morning the journey continues to Humahuaca, a UNESCO World Heritage town full of charm and history, where Andean culture lives on through music, food, and traditions passed down for generations. In the end we will return to Salta.
